AirAsia and AirAsia X Fly Home to Vote Promotion


Malaysian long-haul, budget airline AirAsia X has launched a special promotion for Malaysia’s 13th General Election named "Fly Home to Vote" which offers special fares for Malaysian voters residing overseas to return home and vote.

Flights from Australia to Kuala Lumpur will start from A$ 199 for eligible Malaysian voters. Flights from Japan will start from JPY 12,000, from China will start from CNY 600 and Korea will start from KRW 129,000.

AirAsia X is offering promotional fares to eligible Malaysian voters from Australia with fares from as low as AUD 199*, Japan from as low as JPY12,000*, China from as low as CNY600*, Korea from as low as KRW129,000* and Taiwan from as low as TWD3290* to Kuala Lumpur. Bookings are available from today, 11th April until 30 April 2013 for the travel period between 22 April 2013 and 5 May, 2013 for inbound guests into Kuala Lumpur and between 5 and 19 May 2013 for guests returning after the elections. While AirAsia X is offering special fares for cheap long haul flights, AirAsia is offering Malaysians across the region with all-in-fares from RM 55 one way from Indonesian cities such as Medan, Padang, Balikpapan, Palembang, Pekanbaru and from RM 89 one way from Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Solo.


As for domestic flights throughout Malaysia, all-in-fares start from RM29 one way for routes such as Kuala Lumpur – Johor Bahru, Penang, Alor Setar, Terengganu, Langkawi and more; while all-in-fares from Kuala Lumpur – Kuching, Sibu, Sandakan, Miri, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and more start from RM59 one way.

Flights are also available from other hubs in Malaysia such as Johor Bahru, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu at low fares. AirAsia flies from Johor Bahru to Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Miri and Sibu; from Penang to Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu; from Kuching to Sibu, Miri, Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu, Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Penang; and from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau, Labuan, Kuching, Miri, Sandakan, Sibu, Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

AirAsia X was the first long-haul, low fare carrier to introduce Premium Flatbed seats, which have standard business class specifications of 20” width, 60” pitch and stretch out to 77” in full recline position.
