Hong Kong singer Sita Chan Hei-yi died in car crash


Sita Chan Hei-yi (陳僖儀), a Hong Kong singer who has won best new female artist at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards in 2011, has died on Wednesday morning after losing control of her car on the Hoi Po Road and hitting a kerb and a central divider. According to Apple Daily, the visibility was low due to fog at the time of the accident. Chan, 26, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but later died in the hospital according to police report.

Sita Chan Hei-yi was signed to Sun Entertainment Culture headed by entertainment mogul Paco Wong where she recorded two albums. She had minor roles in films Lan Kwai Fong 2 and Love in Time.

The accident happened at about 2:26 in early Wednesday morning.  ​​Chen Xi Yi was driving coastal Hoi Po Road flyover for Yau Ma Tei direction. It is believed that when she reached near Hong Kong Community College, the vehicle crashed into a kerb then crashed into a bridge divider.

A photo, showing Chan in a recording studio and labelled as microphone test was posted on her facebook account at 9 pm.
