Modeled after highly successful Cyber Monday in United States and Singles Day in China this new 24-hour flash sale platform Bigger Better Sales will start on May 30th 2013 at 08:00 am and the main sales will run 24 hours on biggerbettersale.com. This main online sales will a ten-day sale with items from over 50 participating merchants until June 9. These merchants will offer free giveaways, discounts and gifts with purchases. BiggerBetterSale is supported by Visa's MyFinds.
Bigger Better Sales will be an online alternative and challange to Great Singapore Sales (GSS) and recently slammed by organizers of GSS by the way it takes away shoppers from GSS on the eve of GSS. Competing for the same shopper pool at almost at the same time with GSS, Bigger Better Sales (BBS) will feature up to 80 percent and 50 percent at Zalora and at Reebonz respectively, to travel deals such as one-way ticket at S$34 (US$27) to Kuala Lumpur on Jetstar. Popular brands like Golden Village Cinemas, Adidas, Eu Yan Sang and Courts are some of 50+ merchants participating the event.
"The idea is to be the online platform for the GSS. Singapore does not have a one-day sale culture yet" says Australian Dorjee Sun, the entrepreneur behind BBS. According to Mr Sun, the merchants will not be charged a fee in this first sale.
"We think that with around 50 merchants and several hundred products listed, we could be helping boost e-commerce in Singapore by an excess of several million in sales during our 24-hour sale and the subsequent 10-day period.
However our goal for the first year is about helping increase online wallet share online in Singapore while providing merchants with a great return on investments on this campaign, as we are offering them this first campaign for free."[1]
